Uninstalling the 1Password Browser Extensions

The 1Password browser extensions can be removed just like any other browser extensions you may have installed. Although, there are some additional steps in Firefox. Here are specific instructions for each browser.

Uninstalling 1Password’s Safari Extension

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Select Safari > Preferences from the menu bar.
  3. On the Extensions pane, select the 1Password extension from the list on the left.
  4. Click the “Uninstall” button.

Uninstalling 1Password’s Google Chrome Extension

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Select Window > Extensions from the menu bar.
  3. Click the trash can icon next to the 1Password extension.

Uninstalling 1Password’s Firefox Extension

Other browsers handle the removal of 1Password’s extension database (SQLite) file automatically, but you will need to do this manually for Firefox:

  1. Open Firefox.

  2. Select Tools > Add-ons from the menu bar.

  3. Select the Extensions section.

  4. Click the “Remove” button next to the 1Password extension.

  5. Quit Firefox.

  6. In Finder, select Go > Go to Folder from the menu bar.

  7. Copy and paste the following path and press Return:

    ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles

  8. Move the OnePassword.sqlite file you see there to the desktop if you are troubleshooting an issue or directly to the Trash if you just want to remove 1Password from Firefox.

Once you are done troubleshooting, you can safely move the OnePassword.sqlite file from the desktop to the Trash.
